After moving 3 times in 5 years, which is still better than having 3 kids in 5 years, I decided it was time to get rid of most of my vintage fabric collection. I've been making quilts since 1979 and since collecting fabric is an integral part of the process, I've amassed a lot of fabric. The 1930's & 1940's was my fav period and I used to use vintage mixed with new. But tastes change and I no longer like printed fabric that is so specific. So I started selling it on eBay. It is a lot of work to sell 200 pieces of fabric!
It's been fun visiting, measuring, looking for defects, cataloging, etc. my lovely stuff. But the listing, keeping track of and shipping out is another story. I've sold stuff before on eBay but never so much at one time. I've figured out some ways to make it a smooth production and finally figured out that the only way to stay sane is to make up my own form to track all the steps. Of course I only saw the necessity of being more organized after I sent the wrong fabric to a customer - in Japan!
When it gets to be too onerous I remind myself that this is my punishment for hoarding:)
After fabric I have quilt tops, quilt blocks, clothes and sewing misc. as categories. Suspect I will find more items as I root around in my sewing room.
